September 28,2017 15:06

Two agricultural statistics experts from the Czech Republic are visiting Armenia on 27-29 September to support the country’s National Statistical Service in improving and further developing its Farm Register. They will also propose how to evolve the register into a tool which can be used to manage the complex system of agricultural statistics in compliance with EU standards and requirements.

The Czech experts will present the legislative tools which make up the system of EU standards and requirements on structural and sample surveys in agriculture. They will also talk about the Czech Republic’s experience in establishing a farm register. Their Armenian counterparts will demonstrate the current status of their own country’s register, ask questions and reflect on the recommendations from their EU colleagues.

The visit is organised within the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument of the European Commission (TAIEX) in co-operation with the National Statistical Service of Armenia.
