“Individual approaches will be made. Quick releases and pardons will both be used. Every case will be individualized,” Acting Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan told reporters regarding the cases of people sentenced to life in prison. The clemency act does not apply to them.
Artak Zeynalyan assured that not pardoning those sentenced to life in prison is not due to evaluations of their sentences. “I cannot exclude the possibility of their cases being reviewed during the framework of these actions, which will create opportunities for both the prisoners and their lawyers.”
