A gathering took place on Republic Square by a group titled “Freedom for the President” that was in defense of second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan. The gathering was initiated by head of the Armenian National Alliance civilian initiative Armen Minasyan. There were not many people at the gathering.
The group announced, “The current authorities of Armenia, through violating the Armenian constitution and laws, putting immense amounts of unprecedented pressure on judges, overlooking the benefits of the Armenian people, and condemning the glorious pages of our new history in front of foreigners, illegally detained head of the Karabakh State Defense Committee, head of Artsakh during its historical victorious years, first President of Artsakh and Hero of Artsakh, and second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan.”
Armen Minasyan led the participants of the gathering towards the General Prosecutor’s office, where they continued to gather and protest.
