Tense argument takes place between Armenian Revolutionary Federation and Armenian National Congress

July 07,2019 14:40

July 5th is Constitution Day in Armenia and during a conference titled A Constitution For a Sovereign Armenia, a noteworthy discussion took place.

Vice President of the Armenian National Congress, Levon Zurabyan, suggested that Armenia return to the constitution of 1995. Member of the Executive Body of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Artsvik Minasyan said that there were elements of sultanism in the past.

Levon Zurabyan responded later on, saying, “It’s funny when a political party that has incorporated elements of terrorism in its internal political policies speaks about democracy and constitutionalism.”

Bagrat Yesayan began to argue, saying that they were the ones to commit political terrorism through their administration. Levon Zurabyan said ironically, “Did you recognize yourselves? Did I say your name?”

Artsvik Minasyan said, “It’s surprising when a political force that has been thrown away starts to make themselves seem worthy.”

Bagrat Yesayan said, “You committed terrorism through your ministers. Remember the people you shot and ask us who we shot. You have sentences that have been put into place. Fine? Our crimes were against Turks, but yours were against Armenians.”

Zurabyan replied, “You were the ones who went against Armenians and were caught.”
