Prime Minister was distributing masks

June 18,2020 20:08

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was walking around Yerevan and distributing masks to passersby. He thanked those who were already wearing masks and he showed people who were wearing the masks incorrectly how to do so properly.

There were many people who wished to take selfies with the Prime Minister. Pashinyan did not refuse. He took selfies with people while maintaining his distance.

Many people were expressing their gratitude towards Pashinyan and wishing him patience. There were some people who approached him and told him about their problems.

A group of elderly people was sitting in Circular Park. When they saw that the Prime Minister was approaching him, they began to express their love to him, saying, “Glory and honor to you, we wish you a long live, dear Pashinyan.” One of them was not wearing a mask. Pashinyan gave him a mask and asked him to be more attentive and wear the mask properly. He explained that it’s possible for people to have the virus, approach them, and infect them. Therefore, it is important to wear masks properly. The individual who was not wearing the mask was over 90, according to those who were sitting near him. “Nothing will happen to me,” he said. “How do you know? How is that possible?” Pashinyan asked.

“We want you to be careful,” the elderly citizens warned the Prime Minister, to which the Prime Minister responded, “I want you to be careful.”

“A 93-year-old was not wearing a mask and he said that nothing will happen to him,” Pashinyan said later. Many people who approached him wished to shake his hand. “You still want to shake hands?” He asked. An employee at a coffee shop on Alek Manukyan street was also not wearing a mask. Pashinyan noticed and said, “Now the police will fine you.” The woman said, “No they won’t,” and she waved at him. The Prime Minister gave the woman a mask and said that he isn’t telling her to wear one so that she doesn’t get fined, but instead so that she can stay healthy. Pashinyan also went inside the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport where his temperature was checked. He had a temperature of 36 degrees.

“We love you very much,” a woman said to Pashinyan as he handed her a mask. “I love you too, but it seems like we’ve run into some problems,” Pashinyan responded. “This is our main issue. Although there is a pandemic, many people seem to be celebrating. I’m being serious,” the Prime Minister noted. As he walked around, he also noticed something else: people lower their masks when they greet people. “Mr. Pashinyan, I will not wear this. I will keep this as a memory,” a woman told Pashinyan when he gave her a mask.

“My Nikol got old because of us,” a woman said when she saw Pashinyan. Someone else said, “Take your masks off, the people are suffering.”

Another woman was unable to approach Pashinyan. She said that she needed to tell him something, but Pashinyan did not notice her because he was surrounded by many people. When the Prime Minister saw that large crowds were beginning to form, he stopped his mini tour.
