The hospital beds intended for coronavirus patients continue to remain busy. There will also be new hospitals that will be included in the treatment of the coronavirus. The Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan, spoke about this at the Armenpress press center.
“There have not been any repeat cases of the coronavirus in Armenia,” the minister said, answering a question about repeat cases. He said that the academic debate continues about whether or not it is possible to catch the coronavirus more than once.
“We do not have any such cases. Those cases should not be reviewed on a national level, but they need to be observed within the framework of international studies. Catching the coronavirus twice depends on the length of immunity. We do not have the answer to this question yet. Nor do we have the answer to the question of whether or not one can catch the virus twice. But we need to be careful. Even if we do catch the virus and recover, there is no guarantee that we won’t catch it again, especially taking into consideration the fact that no evidence exists to suggest otherwise. We hope that people will not catch it, or if they do, it won’t be as severe,” Torosyan said.
He used severe respiratory illnesses as examples, such as the flu, which are seasonal. People do not build immunity from them for long.
