THE STATEMENT OF THE EUROPEAN PARTY OF ARMENIA ON PREVENTION OF PATRIACIDE IN ARTSAKH

On September 2, 1991, in accordance with the international right of the nation to self-determination, the Republic of Artsakh was proclaimed in Nagorno-Karabakh.

This was the response of the Karabakh Armenians to the policy of the genocide and the patriacide – the deprivation of the Motherland, carried out against them by the dictatorial regimes of the USSR and Azerbaijan. This policy was a direct continuation of the criminal Moscow Russian-Turkish collusion of March 16, 1921 – the pact of Lenin and Kemal, which violated the Treaty of Sevres and the international law. It was as a result of this very conspiracy that the Armenian Artsakh and Nakhichevan were forcibly transferred to the Soviet Azerbaijan by the order of Stalin.

A century later, the Armenians of Artsakh are again threatened with a Genocide and Patriacide by a new alliance of dictators – Putin, Aliyev and Erdogan. Just as a hundred years ago, Bolshevik Russia and Kemalist Turkey trampled on the international law and violated the Treaty of Sevres, so today the dictatorial regimes of Putin, Aliyev and Erdogan are trying to destroy the OSCE Minsk Group for the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict, challenging its co-chairs – the United States and France.

The European Party of Armenia (EPA) congratulates Artsakh on the 31st anniversary of independence and calls on the governments of the United States and France to immediately resume the work of the OSCE Minsk Group on the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict, in no case yielding to the pressure of Russia, Azerbaijan and Turkey.

The EPA believes that the best, if not the only solution for establishing a lasting peace in the region is the deployment of the international peacekeepers in Artsakh and the recognition of the Republic of Artsakh.

The civilized world that recognized the Armenian Genocide of the 20th century should not allow the repetition of the Armenian Genocide and the Patriacide in Artsakh in the 21st century, which is what the dictators of Russia, Azerbaijan and Turkey are striving for today.

The European Party of Armenia calls on the government of the Republic of Armenia to immediately apply to the UN and the OSCE with an official request for the deployment of the international peacekeepers in Artsakh, as well as to apply for Armenia’s entry as a candidate member to the European Union.

The European Party of Armenia calls on the OSCE Minsk group co-chairpersons from the US and France to make everything possible to free Armenian POWs from the Azerbaijani prisons.

Our struggle is a part of the worldwide struggle between democracy and dictatorship. Democracy cannot give in and lose to dictatorship – neither in Ukraine nor in Artsakh.

For our and your Freedom!
