Armenia rejoins Creative Europe programme

November 01,2022 10:22

On 27 October, the European Commission officially announced that Armenia has become the third country from the Eastern Partnership, after Georgia and Ukraine, to join the new cycle of the European Union’s ‘Creative Europe’ programme.

From now, the programme will have ten so-called “associated third countries”.

Armenia is joining the Culture sub-programme and partly the Cross-sectoral strand of Creative Europe (2021-2027).

This means that Armenian artists, cultural professionals and organisations will be able to participate in the 2022 calls for proposals once the Armenian Parliament ratifies the agreement.

Armenia already participated in the previous cycle of Creative Europe (2014-2020). Its continued participation in the 2021-2027 cycle will provide new opportunities to support the country’s cultural and creative sectors, says the announcement: “The novelties of the 2021-2027 programme will help these sectors recover and strengthen their efforts to become more inclusive, more digital and environmentally more sustainable.”
