February 27,2023 19:07
35 years ago on this day, the genocide of the Azerbaijani Armenians began in the Azerbaijani city of Sumgayit, thousands of Armenians became victims of it in different places and at different periods, and hundreds of thousands were deported.
To this day, the policy of racial hatred towards Armenians continues and deepens in Azerbaijan, one of the greatest manifestations of which is the cruel war in 2020, and now the 78-day blockade of Artsakh. And this state policy of hatred was recorded by international human rights organizations and the UN International Court of Justice.
The long-standing Turkish policy of Armenian genocide continues now, with the goal of having no Armenians in Artsakh, or maybe one for the museum.
Unless these crimes against humanity are properly punished, Azerbaijan and Turkey will continue these terrible chain of crimes, endangering the civilized world.
And our task is to live and struggle in our Motherland in a strong, united and dignified manner, and justice will eventually prevail.
Artak Beglaryan, an advisor to the Artsakh state minister and a former ombudsman
