July 04,2023 11:15

The delegation led by the RA NA President Alen Simonyan being on an official visit in Poland met with the experts of Casimir Pulaski Security Think Tank Foundation of Warsaw.

At the meeting the RA NA President briefly touched upon the agenda of the democratic reforms being implemented in our country, stressing that the facts on democratic achievements of Armenia in the reports of a number of international authoritative organizations are eloquent.

He reminded the attendees that Armenia continues passing through great difficulties, facing the security threats. In this context the Armenian delegates detailed the consequences of the Azerbaijani continuing aggression against Armenia, stressing that Azerbaijan grossly violates the principles of international law and threatens the territorial integrity of Armenia. “Azerbaijan, grossly violating the provisions of November 9, 2020 Trilateral Statement, since December of the last year has blocked the Lachin Corridor, which has resulted in grave humanitarian crisis. 120.000 Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh live in the conditions of full siege,” the RA NA President noted.

Answering the experts’ questions on establishing lasting peace in the region, Alen Simonyan highly appreciated the efforts of the Western partners (the USA, the EU, France, Germany) in the process of establishing peace, stability and security.

The Polish partners mentioned that the most complicated thing for conflicting countries is to find solution satisfying the sides, however it is more complicated to leave the situation without solution, which can result in irreversible consequences.

The RA NA President assured that Armenia has no territorial claims from its neighbours and will continue doing its best for security and peace of the region. At the meeting it was also voiced that Azerbaijan permanently denies all the efforts aimed at peace, ignores the decisions made by the European Court of Human Rights and the mandatory decision of the International Court of Justice, implementing evident policy of ethnic cleansings in Nagorno Karabakh.

Concluding the meeting the RA NA President assured that in our country they really believe that democracy, the rule of law and human rights are guarantees of peaceful co-existence.

The Casimir Pulaski Security Think Tank Foundation presents the analyses implemented by them on international events to the bodies of state administration system and private sector, also indicating their development tendencies and the proposing solutions.

Since 2014, the Foundation organizes Annual Warsaw Security Forum, which has become a platform for discussion of Transatlantic security common challenges between the governments, international structures, analytical centres, as well as the experts of political and defense sectors.

It was proposed by the leadership of the Foundation to organize international discussions on security also between Armenia and other European countries.
