One of the strategic priorities of the RA President’s Staff is the effective cooperation with all the branches of the country’s Government, as well as the active participation in republican and nationwide activities within the scope of powers. The President’s Deputy Chief of Staff Khachatur Poghosyan said this during the joint sitting of the NA Standing Committees on State and Legal Affairs and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs held on November 1, during the debate of the 2024 State Budget programme.
The President’s Deputy Chief of Staff noted that the activity of the institute is aimed at being perceived by the public as a non-political, stable, authoritative, professional, reliable, institutional structure. He also referred to the numerical indicators.
“For the implementation of the statutory powers of the President’s Staff, a budget application of 1 billion 771 million 633 thousand AMD was submitted for 2024, instead of 1 billion 686 million 361 thousand AMD for 2023, in one programme with two measures. The difference of 3 million 234 thousand AMD is the normal salary increase regarding the seniority of civil servants. 82 million AMD of the budget application is intended for the purchase of new network equipment and telecommunication system for the staff,” Khachatur Poghosyan said. He justified the necessity for the purchases on the grounds that the old system has been in operation for more than 25 years, is technically and morally worn out, works with constant disruption, and the repair costs will be absolutely ineffective.
The Deputy Chief of Staff stated that as a result of the above-mentioned changes, the quality and efficiency of the activities of the President’s Staff, as well as the interaction with the state bodies, citizens and the media, will increase.
According to the representative of the President’s Staff, about 95.16% of the budget planned for the staff of 2024 is intended for the purpose of ensuring the activity and representativeness of the President of the Republic, and 4.84% is for the purpose of improving the technical equipment of the President’s Staff.
