Charles Michel, President of the European Council congratulated Ilham Aliyev on his re-election as the president of Azerbaijan.

Discussed also EU-Azerbaijan relations and cooperation, including connectivity and energy. Had substantive discussions also on Armenia-Azerbaijan normalisation. Welcome Azerbaijan’s commitment to resume the Brussels process trilateral meeting to advance a stable and prosperous South Caucasus”, Michel posted on his X account.
