Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Magdalena Grono.
The Prime Minister congratulated Ms. Grono on assuming the position and expressed hope that her activities will contribute to the further development and strengthening of Armenia-EU cooperation. Nikol Pashinyan noted that the Armenian Government gave a positive conclusion at today’s session on the bill “On the launch of the process of Armenia’s accession to the EU” submitted by a civil initiative and recalled that in his speech at the European Parliament in the fall of 2023, he emphasized that the Republic of Armenia is ready to be as close to the European Union as the European Union deems it possible.
Magdalena Grono thanked for the reception and emphasized the importance of the consistent expansion of Armenia-EU cooperation, including the development of democratic institutions and reforms in our country.
During the meeting, the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the active steps of the Armenian Government aimed at security and stability in the South Caucasus, as well as the “Crossroads of Peace” project were discussed.
