Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended the opening ceremony of the newly built secondary school in Pokr Vedi.

The Prime Minister toured the school, got acquainted with the implemented works and the created conditions. The total cost of the project amounted to 1 billion 929 million AMD. It was implemented with the co-financing of the Government under the Asian Development Bank’s Seismic Safety Improvement Program. As a result of the implemented works, the settlement of Pokr Vedi has a new school designed for 432 students.

Nikol Pashinyan congratulated those present on the completion of the construction of the magnificent school and noted: “First of all, I would like to thank all the working, productive and legally taxed citizens of the Republic of Armenia. Thanks to taxpayers, first of all, thanks to their funding, this school was built, as were the roads, kindergartens, and numerous public structures.”

The Prime Minister also thanked all the relevant bodies and construction organizations that participated in the various stages of the school’s construction, emphasizing that the change in the quality of construction work is obvious.

The attitude towards the school, according to Nikol Pashinyan, begins with the building itself. “It is very important for us that the school be the most visible, the most important building, because here, indeed, we learn a lot. This is an educational process for the Government, for teachers, for students, for the community, and for all of us,” the Prime Minister noted, adding that the school also teaches coexistence, being in harmony with the environment, etc.

The Prime Minister noted with satisfaction that the “300 Schools, 500 Kindergartens” program is successfully continuing, within the framework of which the Pokr Vedi secondary school was built. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized: “I hope that you will bring this building that we are handing over to you today to life, because a building is a building, but it’s you how will revive the school, the school will live as long as you make it live. And I am convinced that the school in Pokr Vedi will live, will develop, and from this, the life of Pokr Vedi and the Republic of Armenia will be more visible and more oriented towards the future.”
