Congratulatory Message of His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, on the Occasion of Republic Day
From the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, We extend Our Patriarchal blessing and congratulations to all our people in the Homeland and throughout the Diaspora on the occasion of Republic Day.
As we commemorate the founding of the First Republic of Armenia, we recall the heroic battles of Sardarapat, Gharakilisa, and Bash Abaran.
In those historic battles for the very survival of our nation, Catholicos Gevorg V of All Armenians played a decisive role. In that fateful life-and-death struggle, the brave sons of our people, including the clergy of our Holy Church, achieved victory and secured for future generations the just right to live freely and independently on their native land.
With the same indomitable spirit, the devoted sons of our nation in modern times selflessly defended the homeland, many sacrificing their precious lives for the steadfastness of our statehood and for a secure and dignified future. Today, as a nation, we bow our heads before our heroes and keep their radiant memory forever alive in our hearts.
