Ambassador Romoli outlined His Holiness the Order of Malta’s healthcare and social assistance programs in Armenia
On November 3, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received His Excellency Marco Romoli, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to the Republic of Armenia, at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
Welcoming the Ambassador to the spiritual center of all Armenians, His Holiness congratulated him on assuming his diplomatic duties and wished him success in his mission.
During the meeting, the Catholicos of All Armenians expressed appreciation for the Order of Malta’s humanitarian activities and support for the Armenian people, emphasizing the importance of continuing the Order’s charitable and healthcare programs in Armenia.

His Holiness also spoke about the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin’s social, healthcare, and pastoral care initiatives, with particular attention to the needs of families forcibly displaced from Artsakh and the assistance provided to them.
For his part, Ambassador Marco Romoli thanked His Holiness for the warm reception and outlined the Order of Malta’s healthcare and social assistance programs in Armenia.
The discussion also addressed opportunities for humanitarian cooperation with the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of joining efforts to assist families facing social and economic hardships.
