July 03,2013 10:44

“I welcome the initiative, although I do not have much confidence with this initiative,”- so expressed his opinion the President of Helsinki Committee Avetik Ishkhanyan in a conversation with Aravot.am regarding the initiative of the Military Prosecutor’s Office. Let’s note that the Military Prosecutor’s Office has established a working group to investigate the criminal cases with outcome of death in the Armed Forces. To our questions whether he will participate in the work of that group, or not, Avetik Ishkhanyan replied,- “Of course, I do not trust, but I think that boycotting is wrong in this case. It is wrong, because if our mistrust is justified, it should be proved by participation. To say at once that these works will not give anything and not to participate, I do not think that it will be a constructive approach. I really do not have any confidence, but despite having no trust, I think that boycotting would be wrong.” Whether concretely their organization will participate, Mr. Ishkhanyan did not know clearly. He was in abroad, and said that upon his return to Armenia they will discuss in their organization and probably will participate.
