Display of chauvinism in Russia against Armenians: The Armenian man had to ‘russianize’ his last name

Some of the residents of the village of Voskepar, Tavush region, has been migrated and settled in the city of Stari Oskol of Belgorod region of Russia, Voronezh and elsewhere. The residents of Voskepar told us that sometimes discrimination against Armenians in Russia is displayed. Due to such an attitude, a young man born in Voskepar, who admitted in high school of police, has changed his last name from Papyan to Papov. His parents informed that during the Olympiads of school subject held in Secondary schools of Russia, Armenian children having good results rarely become winners due to non-objective assessment.
