In an interview with “Armenpress” media relations officer of the Armenian National Committee of Europe Bedo Demirjian says NKR President Pago Sahagian’s visit to Belgium has an important political significance.
He said several issues were at the center of the visit which are the following: introducing the Belgian political figures the real picture of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, deepening the relations with Nagorno Karabakh, presenting in detail the operations unleashed by Azerbaijan.
“NKR President’s visit to Belgium and his meetings not only contribute to deepening the relations, but also to the recognition of Nagorno Karabakh. During his visit he held meetings with the staff of the Armenian National Committee, the Armenian community of Belgium, as well as with the Belgian MPs. These meetings aimed at strengthening and deepening the relations with Nagorno Karabakh. Pago Sahagian was the honorable guest at Mechelen city. He left a note in Mechelen’s official book where Presidents, Prime Ministers, Kings of numerous states left their notes”, Bedo Demirjian said. He said one of the most important issues central during the NKR President’s meetings was the presentation of the real picture of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
“Nagorno Karabakh supports the maintenance of peace and it moves forward in a democratic way, but Azerbaijan hinders it. Pago Sahagian said targeted assessments must be given to Azerbaijan. And if the state is not recognized, it doesn’t mean that it has no right to live, develop and have relations with other states”, Bedo Demirjian said.
The NKR President delivered a speech within the academic circles. He held meetings with the Armenian community of Belgium the representatives of which expressed their willingness to support Nagorno Karabakh.
Bedo Demirjian informed in the nearest future the NKR state, political figures will more actively visit Europe since it is very important that they will personally introduce the European partners the Nagorno Karabakh issue.
The NKR President’s visit to Belgium was initiated by the Armenian National Committee of Europe.
