Subsequent “reshuffle” or RA parliamentary elections are becoming controllable for Russia

September 09,2016 18:25

Armen Martirosyan, Deputy leader of “Heritage” political party, describes RA Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan’s resignation as another “reshuffle.”  In an interview with Aravot.am, Mr. Martirosyan assured that it is impossible to speak about systemic changes because even if Karen Karapetyan is appointed in the position of RA Prime Minister, anyway, he will be working with the policy dictated by the system.

He particularly said, “After the recent developments, it was clear that Serzh Sargsyan will need a new smokescreen for the public, and it should be the new government.  It is obvious that the sovereignty sentiments, social and economic discontent especially after joining the EaEU are growing, therefore, this was also a move to make the parliamentary elections controllable for Russia.  For this reason, Karen Karapetyan was brought from Russia allegedly he is the bearer of new ideas as said by Hovik Abrahamyan.”

Armen Martirosyan reminds that Karen Karapetyan has long years of work experience in the Armenian reality, “He has worked in Armenia for a very long time, both in “ArmRosGazprom” and as a mayor of the city of Yerevan, hence, he is not a new person but one of the persons of the system and is fully aware of the internal situation of Armenia and will work totally for the system.”  According to Armen Martirosyan, Karen Karapetyan’s appointment should only play a role of a drug for the society in continuing their wished policy.

Former RA Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan had explained his resignation by the necessity of new approaches, “We need a new approach, new start. That’s why I’ve decided to resign and let the president form a new government.”  However, according to Armen Martirosyan, civilized world walks by the path of elections to achieving this, “While it is obvious that the problem in Armenia is not in it but in the maintenance of the very system.  Driven by this logic, it is necessary to have changed at this time, therefore there is no expectation from the new government, there are no talks about accord of real government.  All this is a distorted approach of what the people are demanding in these years: people’s trusted government, which will fully be connected to people and the state interest.”

As argued by Armen Martirosyan, the so-called accord government will be the restoration of the government class.  It is obvious that the government boat is swaying, hence a restoration of balance is required.  Mr. Martirosyan is not optimistic about the reforms because according to him even if some political parties are included in this government, it is obvious that it is going to have a formal nature.
