Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia Arman Tatoyan talked to journalists about the detained activist of the “Founding Parliament” Gevorg Safaryan’s prison cell inhuman conditions, as his lawyer describes, in “Nubarashen” penitentiary.
Let us remind that civic activist Vardges Gaspari offered Tatoyan to stay in Safaryan’s cell a day. Journalists asked Arman Tatoyan to describe the conditions. “The floor has problems in general, cells too. There is a need for “disinfection” because there is an insect problem, including that cell. The conditions are unacceptable: the degree of moisture, the degree of penetration of natural light”, said Arman Tatoyan.
In response to the question: “And what about sewage?”, he responded, “When I say moisture, I also mean that”.
According to the Human Rights Defender, they will visit Gevorg Safaryan on Saturday.
Arman Tatoyan mentioned that there are problems with some cells in Nubarashen penitentiary, and they consult on this issue in order to close the cells that are no longer subject to exploitation.
