Pashinyan on tax collection, salary increase, and Amulsar issue

July 02,2018 17:40

In response to the question whether when the social state of citizens will improve, when the people will see results, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that there are already some changes: “These changes are, of course, not tangible, not visible yet. For example, I would like to mention that there has been an actual increase in salaries of 207 thousand employees, and a reduction in salaries of some others, but in much smaller amount than expected. There have been some changes in prices at markets. The level of revenue collection has significantly increased, there are changes in the healthcare sector that can change people’s situation. We take steps in social housing, which will continue… I know people expect quick results, we do our best to record those results”.

The Prime Minister said that “we must record the cornerstone significance of corruption because if we have a so-called state boiler, and the national wealth and state revenues leak away through many holes of that boiler, we cannot ensure the fullness of this boiler if we do not cover those holes”.

Pashinyan informed that there has been a serious input in the budget: “Part of the physical input has been done, it is not of dozens of millions, but will sum up the results of the month… It has been more than ten million, and that is an obvious reality”. The Prime Minister also spoke about the Amulsar issue. As we know, the roads leading to Amulsar mine are blocked, residents of nearby villages and environmentalists demand to stop the mine works. Pashinyan said that the solution is one, our further decisions should be based on undeniable facts, we have made progress in the way of collecting these facts, there will be a final conclusion”.
