February 04,2019 22:49

The Hetq newspaper published that third President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan was interrogated within the framework of the March 1st case as a witness. Our sources also confirmed this information. Serzh Sargsyan was interrogated on February 1st, and his interrogation lasted for 5-6 hours. The Special Investigative Service is neither confirming nor denying this information; they simply say that they will not comment on it.

Second President Robert Kocharyan’s lawyer Hayk Alumyan said that he was also informed about Serzh Sargsyan’s interrogation through the media.

Later, Hayk Alumyan told reporters, “I am not at all aware of whether or not he was interrogated, and in the end, it is not important for us.” Alumyan said that the testimonials that the investigator brought to court showed that many high-ranking people gave testimonials and were interrogated.

He said that he has not seen Manvel Grigoryan’s testimonial on this case. When asked if Serzh Sargsyan might have given some valuable information which will impact the case, Alumyan said, “I cannot say anything to you about Serzh Sargsyan. I have no connections with Serzh Sargsyan. Even if he did give a testimonial, I have not seen it.”

Sargsyan was the Prime Minister of Armenia in 2008, and according to the results of the elections held in February, he was elected President. First President Levon Ter-Petrossian and his supporters did not accept those results.
