Economist Karlen Khachatryan gave his analysis during a meeting with reporters of what advantages Armenia has gained from being a member of the Eurasian Economic Union over the course of the past several years.
“If we are to examine Armenia’s role in the EAEU over the past few years, as well as the dynamics of goods turnover between Armenia and the other EAEU nations, we will see that Armenia has developed its trade relations with Russia both in exports and in imports. But at the same time, we must accept the fact that goods turnover with other nations is not developing as expected. I believe that the other member states should focus on that over the coming years because it seems that Russia is the main player in the EAEU, and all of the member states seem to be developing their relations with Russia, but not with one another as desired,” Khachatryan said.
