Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at the government session: “Hundreds of millions of dollars have been paid, but the obligations of arms supplies to Armenia are not fulfilled, including by allied countries.”
In this regard, in a conversation with journalists, Andranik Kocharyan, chairman of the National Defense and Security Affairs Committee, answered the question, “What supplies are we talking about and from which country?” “We are talking about arms supplies. The acquisition of weapons involves complex mechanisms and it is not like we signed the contract and the weapons were loaded tomorrow and arrived at the Ministry of Defense. It’s complicated logistical problems, it’s a troubled world. One country allows weapons to pass, one does not.
Didn’t you see how hard we tried to deliver weapons to Armenia during the 44-day war? Even the neighboring states blocked our airspace, but the enemy was able to find convenient logistic ways, they mastered such frauds, but whatever they did, that is our fate. When building our security issues, we should take into account that we have such difficulties.”
In response to which country Pashinyan was referring to, Andranik Kocharyan said, “If necessary, the brackets will be opened, but now, I think there is no need for it.” The Indian press writes that Armenia bought about 250 million dollars worth of weapons from India. Journalists checked whether the news corresponds to reality. Andranik Kocharyan answered: “We are looking for weapons from all the countries that our defense department needs, India can and is among those countries.”
