Raising the Azerbaijani flag in Stepanakert is, of course, a painful event. But it is the logical milestone of the 5-year policy of Pashinyan and his team (unfortunately, I cannot say the end). Virtually, that flag was raised in Prague in October 2022, and the raiser was the Prime Minister of Armenia, who announced that Artsakh is Azerbaijan, and that’s it. Pashinyan’s previous and subsequent steps, apparently coordinated with Putin and Aliyev, also contributed to what happened in Stepanakert on Sunday.
But that’s only part of the tragedy. The poison injected into our society daily and every minute will have more tragic and lasting consequences. Outwardly, the target of this hatred is the people of Artsakh, the former leaders of NKR or deputies.
I don’t know if there was a case in our history when the Armenian government incited the same hatred that is propagated in the enemy’s country towards the Armenian ministers who were in the enemy’s captivity and were facing the danger of being tortured and killed. It is a phenomenon that should be recorded for future generations.
The same is true in the history textbooks, from which the mention of Artsakh being Armenian should disappear. I will not be surprised if the most “advanced” historians soon claim that Mesrop Mashtots taught in the Azerbaijani Amaras monastery.

But that’s all on the surface. The deep target is all Armenian, national dignity, and our right to have Armenian statehood. That the public digests such preaching is a complete tragedy.
…The Azerbaijani flag flies not only in Stepanakert. It also waves in the sovereign territory of Armenia, which has handed over the current government of Armenia to the enemy. If that government continues, the same flag can be flown in any settlement in Armenia. Will they not go to escalation because of that?
