October 17,2026 19:41

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hosted the delegation led by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, who has arrived in Armenia on an official visit.

Firts, the official welcoming ceremony took place, during which the national anthems of Armenia and Kyrgyzstan were performed; subsequently, the leaders of the two countries greeted the members of the respective delegations.

This was followed by a private meeting between Nikol Pashinyan and Sadyr Japarov, after which the leaders continued their discussions in an expanded format.

In his welcoming remarks, Prime Minister Pashinyan stated: “Dear Sadyr Nurgozhoyevich, I welcome you and your delegation to the Republic of Armenia. This is your first official visit to the Republic of Armenia, and I hope, and am confident, that as a result of this visit, we will open a new chapter in our relations. Naturally, the political dialogue between our countries has traditionally been at a high level, and it continues to be so. Today, during our meeting and discussions, we are exploring ways to invigorate our bilateral economic relations.

We are following the economic processes taking place in Kyrgyzstan with great interest. The projects you are implementing appear to be aimed at the common goal of establishing new trade routes. I believe that our respective projects can, in general, be integrated; as a result of the implementation of the TRIPP project and broader regional developments, I anticipate that transport infrastructure in our region will open up in the near future.

Very interesting and significant developments are also occurring in your transport sector, and I believe that, especially in this context, we should discuss how to further advance our cooperation.

Once again, welcome; it is a pleasure to have you in the Republic of Armenia.”

The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, said: “Thank you, dear Nikol Vovayevich.

First of all, allow me to express my sincere gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to the Kyrgyz delegation. I also thank you for the invitation to pay an official visit to the Republic of Armenia. I wholeheartedly congratulate the Armenian side on the successful hosting of the Leaders’ Summit, held within the framework of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity. The event was organized at a high level and ensured broad international representation.

In recent years, under your leadership, Armenia has achieved significant results in socio-economic development and the implementation of important reforms. It is gratifying to observe the steady growth of Armenia’s economy.

I would particularly like to highlight your efforts aimed at fostering an atmosphere of friendship and good-neighborliness in the South Caucasus. I am convinced that peace and stability are the fundamental conditions for improving the well-being of the peoples of the entire region. Kyrgyzstan and Armenia are united not only by friendly relations but also by mutual respect for the historical and cultural heritage of our peoples.

The literary legacy of the great Armenian poet Hovhannes Tumanyan is inspired by humanitarian ideals and affirms the values of kindness and mutual understanding. These ideals resonate with the spiritual traditions of the Kyrgyz people. I am confident that this rich cultural heritage serves as a solid foundation for mutual understanding between our nations.

I would like to emphasize that the Kyrgyz Republic attaches great importance to the development of relations based on traditional friendship and mutual respect. High-level political dialogue plays a key role in this endeavor, and it is our intention to deepen it. It is a special honor for me to be the first President of Kyrgyzstan to pay an official visit to Armenia.

I am confident that this visit will serve as an important step toward strengthening direct ties between our countries. There is significant potential for developing practical cooperation in the fields of trade, transport, agriculture, information technology, education, and tourism. One of the key outcomes of the negotiations will be the signing of an extensive package of documents covering the movement and stay of citizens, pension security, education, science, the protection of personal data, as well as a number of other areas of cooperation.

I expect that today’s meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss current issues in a substantive manner and outline concrete steps. I am confident that the agreements reached will give new impetus to Kyrgyzstan-Armenia relations and strengthen the friendship between our peoples.”

During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues related to the further development and expansion of bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, and humanitarian spheres. Emphasis was placed on taking consistent steps toward deepening trade and economic ties.

The sides exchanged views regarding regional processes, specifically, steps aimed at establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, unblocking transport and communication routes, and promoting connectivity.
