Wildlife Through the Lens: Berta Martirosyan on the Stage of Mining Armenia Forum 2026

Wildlife photographer Berta Martirosyan was a special guest at an interactive interview held during the Mining Armenia Forum 2026. Her work documenting Armenia’s rich biodiversity has also been featured on the official United Nations Biodiversity platform.

From the stage, Berta shared her professional journey, where nature and photography seamlessly intertwine. Speaking about the behavior of birds and rare animals, the hours of silent waiting in the field, and the critical importance of preserving biodiversity, she emphasized that photography can introduce people to endangered species. When people begin to know nature and understand the threats it faces, they develop a much deeper appreciation for the need to protect it. According to Berta, the greatest outcome of her work is inspiring people—by seeing the world through her lens—to truly love and cherish it.

Since the Mining Armenia Forum 2026 was held in the lead-up to COP17, the theme of biodiversity conservation took center stage. It was actively discussed by leading biodiversity experts from around the world who traveled to Armenia for the forum before joining the COP17 conference currently taking place in Yerevan.

Beyond the familiar landscapes lies a world alive with movement, instinct, and extraordinary beauty.
This video offers a glimpse into Armenia’s rich wildlife, bringing us closer to the wild inhabitants that make the country’s natural heritage so remarkable.
