Disturbances and faint in a courtroom (photo album)

January 17,2012 17:33

As we have already informed, the session at the trial court of the region of  Tavush on the case of contract serviceman, officer Artak Nazaryan’s murder was stopped because of disturbances.

Witness Arman Mnatsakanyan was brought to the court and was interrogated by Alvard Mnatsakanyan, the counselor of defendants, servicemen Mkhitar Mkhitaryan, Harutik Kirakosyan and Adibek Hovhannisyan.

The counselor asked whether he knew what violence was and Judge Samvel Mardanyan urged the witness, “Say in your words.” The witness said that violence was beating a man up. When the counselor asked whether her defendant Harutik Kirakosyan used violence against Artak Nazaryan, the witness said, “I cannot answer questions.”

At that moment Harutik’s mother fainted and bailiffs brought her water and medicine. The witness’s father who was in the courtroom was noisily approached by the relatives of the defendants and an uncontrollable situation occurred in different parts of the courtroom.

Bailiffs threatened to call the police and relatives of the defendants even approached the glass wall, they threatened to break it.

Harutik, seeing his fainted mother, tried to take some steps behind the wall himself.

The court session was delayed and an obvious excuse was found to hold a closed court session.

Relatives of the defendants did not calm down and the witness left not even through the court entrance.

Representative of the victim’s legal successor Ruben Martirosyan thought the military prosecutor’s office and military police were to blame for all that.
