The fragments of National Democratic Union (NDU) will not unite

February 02,2012 17:15

“We will put off the issue of establishing closer relations with the NDU fragments till the end of the parliamentary election”, said Vahram Mkrtchyan, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Union of Armenia (LDUA) in response to the question of Aravot.am whether the process of reuniting forces that had parted from the NDU came to an end. In response to a question why after the election and not before it, our interlocutor said that the unity had not had a pre-election implication from the beginning.

Now the LDUA “is focusing on the parliamentary election” and looking for “political partners.” The party leader informed that they negotiate with the “big” and “small,” meaning parties. He didn’t wish to show his “hand” at the moment, since they don’t have exact agreements yet.

Let us remind that the existence and activities of this party were always connected with businessman Barsegh Beglaryan (Barsegh of Flash), who by the way is perceived one of Serzh Sargsyan’s closest friends.
