Yesterday Levon Ter-Petrossian and Levon Zurabyan discussed the internal political situation, developments and what was going to happen before the election, on the election day and after the election in Armenia with the US Ambassador. Armenian National Congress (ANC) coordinator Levon Zurabyan told www.aravot.am about this and mentioned that they had particularly discussed all those issues that were related to the maturing of Armenia’s democracy in the context of the election.
In response to our question whether he believed the promises of the establishment to conduct a freer, fairer and more transparent election, than the previous year, John Heffern said, “When those promises are made at the highest level, we assume they will be kept.” In response to our observation that the Ambassador believed the establishment, Levon Zurabyan said that he was not aware of such a statement made by the Ambassador.
