The Elder of Artsvanist Was Beaten Up

April 16,2012 17:17

Khoren Sargsyan, a former Communist nominated in no. 24 electoral district for majoritarian representation, informed during a conversation with www.aravot.am that his rival, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) member Hakob Hakobyan, terrorized the population of the electoral district on behalf of the Attorney General and the President of the Republic of Armenia.

Let us remind that Khoren Sargsyan nominated himself, but according to some news, he is unofficially supported by the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP). He, Trchunich, claims, “I am supported by everyone, but the RPA.”

Our interlocutor informed that in all the villages, where he had pre-election meetings, supporters of the rival from the RPA had “conversations” with the village elders.

Another election incident took place the previous day. Hakob Hakobyan’s supporters beat up Samvel Ohanyan, the elder of Artsvanist, in a forestry, the head of which is Hakob Hakobyan’s cousin. Samvel Ohanyan was transferred to one of the hospitals in the capital this morning.

Khoren Sargsyan’s pre-election headquarters is going to apply to competent bodies concerning the case, according to the procedure. In regard to the case, Hakob Hakobyan said during a conversation with www.aravot.am, “Tell Khoren Trchunich that I will give his applications that he writes with mistakes to Aravot to print, if he libels again.” We inquired what application he was talking about, Hakobyan added, “Please, tell him, since he is also a fellow villager, he is from Tsovinar, I don’t want to discredit him. Tell him, if he continues, I will publish that application in newspapers. And the rest is libel.”
