Former Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Member Hrach Rostomyan Will Become a Minister

June 16,2012 17:33

“Sports has nothing to do with politics. When Armenian sportsmen win medals at European or World Championships, at Olympic Games, we all feel proud, regardless of our party membership,” the statement of Hrach Rostomyan who is going to assume the office of the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs provided to www.aravot.am reads.

“It is not a secret that our success in the field of sports in recent years has been achieved, to a large extent, thanks to the activities and support of Gagik Tsarukyan, the President of the Olympic Committee. I, as the secretary of the committee, am well-aware of the work that has been and is being done. Becoming the Minister of Sports, I temporarily suspend my membership to the Prosperous Armenia Party. This appointment is merely a sports one and has nothing to do with the party. On the other hand, I want to stress that at any moment when G. Tsarukyan or the president of the republic is unsatisfied with my work, I will hand in my resignation and return to the ranks of the Prosperous Armenia Party and continue my party activities,” Rostomyan adds.
