According to the information www.aravot.am has, the ARF regional committee in Shirak has recently expelled a few old comrades from the party, particularly those who instead of endorsing financier Hovsep Simonyan, the ARF candidate for the mayor of Gyumri, in the local elections, endorsed their employer Samvel Balasanyan.
Samvel Petrosyan who is considered as the best brewer in Gyumri and has worked in the brewery that belongs to Mr. Balasanyan for many years is mentioned as an expelled person. And since Balasanyan helped him with different issues, he, in turn, deemed necessary to set personal relations above the party’s interests.
Zorik Petrosyan, another brewer, who works at the Akhalkalak affiliate of Samvel Balasanyan’s brewery, has also been expelled from the party. There are speculations that Sashik Barseghyan has also been expelled.
www.aravot.am asked Gevorg Alekyan, an official of the ARF regional organization in Shirak, to clarify whether our information corresponded to the reality. “I wouldn’t like to tell names and say which of our former comrades we have expelled from the party, but let me say that our former comrades who participated in the election campaign of this or that candidate in the parliamentary election or the local elections, haven’t carried out the party’s decisions or haven’t participated anyhow in the post-election activities of the party have been severely punished by the party. There are quite specific reasons, but I cannot go into detail, since those are internal problems of our party. I can just say that more than twenty people from the region of Shirak have been expelled from the party for not taking part in the parliamentary and local elections or endorsing other candidates and not carrying out the party’s decisions,” the official of the ARF regional organization in Shirak confirmed our information.
