Vice Chairman of “Heritage” party Armen Martirosyan considers the statement of the EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Füle logical. It is worth mentioning that, a day before, after the meeting of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan, Mr. Füle disseminated a message that it is hard to imagine that Armenia’s Association Agreement with the EU will be initialing on November summit in Vilnius. “It’s hard to imagine the agility of Armenia if the Free Trade Agreement is not signed, but the Association Agreement is signed. Such a thing can not be, because, first of all, the Association Agreement constitutes the Free Trade Agreement. What Füle said is not a discovery, it is logical. It is too early to speak about the sanctions, but nothing remains without consequences. Each power is countered by another power. Let’s wait for further developments. For example, it is interesting that in the last two days, with regard to beating the political activists of Armenia, the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights issued a statement. There were so many election frauds that no one made any statement, on the contrary, they praised the authorities knowing what the situation was and how the elections have passed. It is clear that is was done due to political expediency, but now there is no longer such expediency. I can not say whether the pressure on Armenia will grow or not, but the fact that Armenia from the subject of international rights is turned into the object thanks to the active efforts of authorities and the oligarchs, and it is apparent that no one will care about Armenia’s opinion”, – said Mr. Martirosyan to Aravot.am. Referring to the Chief of President’s Staff Vigen Sargsyan’s statement that the membership of Armenia to the Customs Union does not allow us to sign a Free Trade Agreement with the European Union, but Armenia is ready to sign only the Association Agreement, Mr. Martirosyan said,- “These are Armenia’s attempts to justify to the public, it is the option of Armenia’s agility, which will not work. I also wish to be a royal dynasty crown prince, but my desire is not enough, the same in this case. Neither our society, nor our international partners do not need their agility.” To our question as to what the EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Füle’s visit to Yerevan next week will change, Mr. Martiorsyan said,- “It is not likely to change anything because the partners preferred by our authorities already have at this moment, and these partners in a very nice way let them down.” Mr. Martirosyan does not rule out the possibility that the RA authorities would change the decision of joining the Customs Union. “The very first day I have not ruled out this option because earlier they were giving other oaths, they went to Moscow and gave another oath, Füle can bring a handful of European soil, and handed it during the meeting at the President’s Residence House, after which they will change their mind. Perhaps, wherever they put their feet on the soil, they speak of that soil. Let’s wait for developments.”
