U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern details his meeting with the Prosecutor General. “I asked as an interested observer”,- said the Ambassador to Aravot.am, referring to the reason of his interest touched upon at the meeting with the Prosecutor regarding the incident happened on June 1 in front of the former Syunik Governor Surik Khachatryan.

According to him, the international community is interested in the case, the process is kept under the law. “The prosecutor presented the situation, it was a useful meeting.” To our question whether the details presented by the prosecutor regarding the investigation of the case satisfied him, the Ambassador replied, “I do not want to comment on the details of the case, just the international community is interested in equal accountability for all sides. This principle was the base of our conversation.”
