March 03,2015 14:22

The Defense Ministry Spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan ha announced that the Azerbaijani side, especially in these days, has regularly started violating the ceasefire regime. Aravot.am asked the expert for the Razm.info military website Vram Khojagoryan about his opinion of what are the reasons for the tensed situation. The expert did not want to associate the situation with political processes, in particular, with the visit of the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to Azerbaijan. “After the previous tension, the Armenian side was able to respond in its typical way by causing numerous casualties. We know that there is a veil there, they do not report on their losses, nevertheless, the information about the losses came out. In fact, the tough response by the Armenian side made them to reconsider their tactics, in other words, they took a relative pause.

Over the past 10 days, the situation was pretty calm, we understand that the peace situation in not advantageous to Azerbaijan, because the latter is the party that loses and it should constantly keep the situation tense to attract the attention of the international community, because today there is Ukraine and an Islamic state, in other words, the world is not interested in the Artsakh problem primarily,” said he. According to him, the Azerbaijani side for proven ways to attract attention to acts of sabotage and causing huge losses to the side.

Vram Khojagoryan predicts that tension is going to be observed in the near future. “Although Azerbaijan has officially announced the death of a soldier who allegedly died of heart failure, but the alternative sources reported the death of three soldiers, including the so-called heart failure case. In other words, although it is not officially mentioned by Azerbaijan, however, the Armenian side has already made response actions, including through the snipers. Accordingly, over the next 1-2 days, we will understand whether these casualties would be enough for Azerbaijan, or, on the contrary.”

The expert thinks that the Armenian side will come out of this situation as a winner. “It is sad that the blood shed by our young soldiers and experienced military officers will remain underneath, and unfortunately, we cannot return them. We much pay a price for it, but eventually, we will come out of this situation as a winner. Already, there is a clear precedent, our detachments know what to do.”
