Recently, at the “Stars of the Future” International Festival held in the city of Marmaris, Turkey, the 10-year-old Hambardzum Tarlanyan was declared the winner in the nomination of “National Song”. Hambardzum is born in Ani Pemza village, Shirak marz, and studies at the Gyumri “Pyunik” Art School. In the conversation with us, he said that performed three songs: “We should go sooner or later,” “Little Quail” and “Lord Have a Mercy”. According to Hambardzum, he was very excited when signing “We should go sooner or later” and “Lord Have a Mercy” under the Turkish flag.
The boy said that he submitted his demand to the Turks. His teacher, the Gyumri branch of Yerevan State Conservatory Vocal Department, also singer Gevorg Noroyan told the Committee, which was composed of serious experts, recognized him as the 1st prize winner and the best performer of the national song.
According to our interlocutor, Hambardzum has left quite a serious impression on the jury staff and the audience. They are so impressed with his performances that the Turkish member of the jury has gone to the hotel and congratulated the boy with special gifts and, then, invited to dine. “Hambardzum was so excited that a day before the performance he said to me, imagine Mr. Noroyan me singing in a way that the Turkish flag breaks off from my voice and falls under my feet. It is very honorable, he has gone to the land of his ancestors, saw the Heaven and performs minstrel with a haughty voice, the song of an Artsakh war veteran Haykazni, “We should go sooner or later.”

Interestingly that when the Mollahs begin singing from minarets on special hours, Hambardzum was coming out to the balcony of our hotel suite and was singing Komitas “Lord Have a Mercy” in a loud voice, he was saying that they get on my nerves. He is a very flamboyant boy, a patriot, and performed a beautiful and wonderful song,” said Gevorg Noroyan. Note that Hambardzum is planning to attend the festival in California, USA. The songs will be dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
