In the near future, it will record Serj Tankian’s composed film music.
In the current year, Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra (ANPO) had guest tours in Finland, Denmark, Norway, the US, Mexico, Lebanon dedicated to the centennial of the Armenian Genocide. Recently, the Orchestra returned from its tour to Poland and Germany. In an interview with “Aravot”, ANPO general producer Arman Padaryan noted that they have performed in Filharmonia Narodovai Sala Koncertowa, Warsaw, and in BASF Feierabendhaus, Ludwigshafen, and then detailed, “The National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia presented the Polish audience Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto and Anush Nikoghosyan performed as a soloist, Rimsky-Korsakov’s “The Spanish Capriccio,” Tchaikovsky’s First Symphony, and in Germany – the Suite from Khachaturian’s ballet “Spartacus”, Tchaikovsky’s 6th Symphony and Chopin’s first Piano Concerto. We had invited the Italian nationality but Germany-based pianist Sophie Pacini as a soloist. The concerts were conducted by artistic director and principal conductor Eduard Topchyan.”

Our interlocutor also said that the performances of the orchestra were addressed by the mass media of the mentioned countries. To our observation that any Armenian performer or a collective on returning from foreign concert halls constantly mention that they were held in overcrowded halls, the artistic director replied, “In Germany, we had presented the same program twice and truly, the hall designed for 1,200 seats was overcrowded.”
ANPO in Germany. We inquired about when the orchestra’s every Friday concerts will be resumed after the concerts by the end of the year and after the New Year. Our interlocutor said that on December 18, they have a guest from Germany, pianist Lusine Khachatryan, and conductor James P. Liu from Singapore. As for the first performance of the orchestra in 2016, Mr. Padaryan informed that it will take place on February 5, the orchestra will be conducted by Spanish conductor Irnandes Silva.
During the evening concert, among other works, the Armenian spectators will first time listen to E. Tubin’s double bass and orchestra concert performed by our Spanish-based compatriot Zareh Kyurkchyan. ANPO in Poland. “From January 20, the orchestra will commence the recording of film producer Jivan Avetisyan’s “The last inhabitant” film music, whose author is the world famous rocker Serj Tankian,” informed Arman Padaryan.
