The Ombudsman of Armenia has thoroughly investigated all reports and information, as well as mass media publications on cases of use of violence and ill-treatment of citizens by the Police, press service of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia informs.
According to the source, the Ombudsman’s staff have sent letters to the Police of Armenia for carrying out investigations on reports of alarm of unreasonable detention of citizens.
Notes have been sent to the Special Investigative Service of Armenia according to all reports and publications containing crimes prohibited by the Criminal Code, for initiating procedures defined by the Criminal Procedure Code. Among others, the publications include Davit Sanasaryan and Vaghinak Shushanyan’s reports.
