Pashinyan: Republic of Artsakh Must Negotiate in name of Artsakh

August 19,2018 17:42

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during the gathering on Republic Square to celebrate his 100th day in office, spoke about the situation surrounding the Artsakh conflict, saying, “Some people spend money and buy media outlets so that they can announce that Pashinyan’s government and Pashinyan came to give away land… can you imagine, I haven’t negotiated anything regarding the situation in Artsakh, but some people say that I’ve come to give away land.”

Pashinyan directed his words to people who say such things. “They’re confusing me with themselves. They haven’t negotiated anything besides the prospect of giving away land. I am aware of all the contents of the negotiation process and I know about all the documents. You army robbers, you stole from soldiers! You food-stealing mice, I’m prepared to completely negotiate in the name of the Republic of Armenia regarding the situation in Artsakh, but the authorities in Artsakh must negotiate in the name of Artsakh. At the same time, let me say that we are prepared as a nation to give a crushing counterattack to any provocation made by Azerbaijan.”

Nikol Pashinyan emphasized, “We don’t want a war. We are ready for peaceful negotiations and for a peaceful resolution. But for those people who are trying to doubt me, let me remind you that some people just don’t understand that the one who is going to solve or not solve the Artsakh conflict isn’t the government, but the people… if there is a possibility of resolution, which I myself will believe there to be, I will announce it. Let no one think that I will sign any paper in secret. If I see that there is a solution which we can speak about, I will come back to Republic Square and will explain all of the details. The people will then decide whether we will come to a resolution through that solution or not.”
