November 17,2018 13:35

Classes were not held at the Berdavan secondary school in Tavush, Armenia on November 17th. The students marched to the transnational highway. From 10:20 AM, the highway was closed. The purpose of this action was to demand the return of Karen Ghazaryan.

Karen Ghazaryan’s relatives, teachers from the Berdavan secondary school, the administrative leader of Berdavan Smbat Mughdasyan, many workers from the Noyemberyan police station, and road police were also protesting on the highway on July 15th, 2018. Someone wearing civilian clothes who presented himself as being named Hamazasp asked Karen Ghazaryan’s father, Armen, whether the family had done everything possible to make sure their demands were heard before closing off the highway.

Armen Ghazaryan responded that they had done everything possible. Hamazasp’s questions angered Armen Ghazaryan. Hamazasp demanded that he speak in a relaxed tone. Ghazaryan asked him how anyone in his position could possibly be calm. Overall, the protest took place in a peaceful manner. As of 12 PM, the transnational highway is still closed.
