“They blame us for stopping something in the negotiations process. But we have recorded specific results. The proof lies in the relative peace at the border. The ceasefire regime has not been adhered to as well in the past 15 years as it has now,” Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan announced during a rally.
He said, “But this does not mean anything yet. We understand that Armenia and Azerbaijan have different expectations regarding the resolution of the Artsakh conflict. We are prepared to make peaceful negotiations towards the resolution of this conflict. But I cannot negotiate in Artsakh’s name as I am not the President of Artsakh. Therefore, we consider Artsakh’s return to the negotiations table to be of utmost importance.”
Pashinyan emphasized, “We consider the past regime’s policy of removing Artsakh from the negotiations table to be a mistake. Artsakh was removed from the negotiations table and Armenia negotiated in its place. That is one of our biggest mistakes in foreign policy and we see its consequences now. We are going to focus all our efforts on fixing that mistake.”
