Delegation of Belarus Side of Inter-Parliamentary Committee of RA and RB National Assemblies Pays Tribute in Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex

On September 6, the delegation of Belarus side of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee of the National Assemblies of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Belarus headed by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Boleslav Pirshtuk visited Tsitsernakaberd 1915 Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex. The delegation was accompanied by the Co-Chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee, the NA Deputy Speaker Vahe Enfiajyan, the NA deputies Aleksey Sandikov, Armen Yeghiazaryan, the RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the BA Armen Ghevondyan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Armenia Igor Nazaruk Igor Nazaruk.

The Belarus parliamentarians laid flowers at the eternal fire and honoured the memory of the innocent martyrs with a minute of silence. They have also been at the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, got familiarized with the documents proving the Genocide, observed the exhibits, and left a note in the Memory Book of Honorable Guests.

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives noted that Armenia, as well as Belarus had hard times during their history. “It is hard to imagine that how hard it has been, what a barbarous act. We should learn lessons from the history so it not be repeated, and we should create conditions for peacefully living,” Boleslav Pirshtuk said.

On the same day the parliamentarians of the two countries visited Tumo Center for Creative Technologies. The guests got acquainted with the history of the Center, took a tour in the halls and watched a video film about Tumo.

Afterwards Vahe Enfiajyan and Boleslav Pirshtuk signed joint protocols on the works done and a Memorandum of Cooperation in the Inter-Parliamentary and EEU frameworks.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker highlighted the cooperation with the Belarus side and noted that it would be continuous.

The Deputy Speaker of the NA House of Representatives of Belarus also emphasized the cooperation and expressed hope that in the near future with the Armenian colleagues’ support a Tumo Center for Creative Technologies also would be opened in Minsk.
