I am shocked and saddened by the news of today’s shooting in Halle,” said PACE President Liliane Maury Pasquier, reacting to reports that at least two people have died in an attack near a synagogue in the town.
“My thoughts are with the families of the victims, and all those affected by this incident, which falls on the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur,” she added.
“I wish to assure the German authorities of my full support as they deal with this ongoing and dramatic situation.”
