‘Azeris are saying that their security blogger is in an uncomfortable situation’: Tatevik Hayrapetyan

November 25,2019 20:30

An incident broke out at the meeting between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and members of the Armenian community at the St. Forty Martyrs’ Armenian Apostolic Church in Milan. An Azeri blogger entered the church and stated that they are asking Nikol Pashinyan to end the war since he is a democratic leader.

As a result, people were worried that there are flaws in Armenian national security and that it is necessary to resolve those issues.

My Step faction leader Lilit Makunts was asked about her opinion of the fact that an Azeri entered an Armenian church and whether or not she thinks that this is a provocation. She said that, as an Armenian citizen, the way the Prime Minister responded to the Azeri is a source of pride. “The fact that a representative of Azerbaijan’s special services was there at that moment is another issue. From a security perspective, that is also worrisome for me.”

My Step deputy Tatevik Hayrapetyan added that, after following Azeri commentary, Azeris are also saying that their security blogger is in an uncomfortable situation and that the Prime Minister of Armenia made important points. “They say that it would have been better for the blogger not to have taken that step so as to not find himself in such an uncomfortable situation.”
