“Today’s government is leading our people to kneel before the Turks with their incompetent rule,” said Seyran Ohanyan, former Minister of Defense and member of the Armenia faction, during an opposition rally in France Square on May 1. He assured that the army is by the side of the people, and no matter what, the army is standing on our borders today.
Seyran Ohanyan urged people to support the Armenian army. The participants of the rally shouted “Army, army” and answered him. Speaking about the era of peace, he said, “To go blindly, to enter into the illusion of peace, is unacceptable. If, as they say, they attack us, if we win, even if they attack, it is the task of the state leadership and today’s army. If we do not fight for our identity today, will they say they are not fighting for their homeland?”
Seyran Ohanyan assured that the war could be won and said, “Of course, due to your disorganization, it was impossible not to put the state on the military rails, not to unite the country, to divide it into black and white. While it was possible to make sure we did not lose, it was possible to win, but they did not care.”
