“It may seem that this search of ours, the opposition, is out of date, but this is a very important topic. Since the beginning of the National Assembly of this convocation, during the discussion of the project on every topic, which did not refer to defense and security, the oppositionists said, ‘Did you find time to discuss this topic?’ Now they left and did not come. Today, we are discussing projects on defense and the status of soldiers, but there are no oppositionists, and they are not even on the streets now,” said NA Vice President Ruben Rubinyan at the plenary session of the National Assembly on July 6. Deputies of the Civil Contract faction criticized that the opposition was absent from the special session of the discussion of legislative projects related to the defense sector and the army.
Rubinyan continued his speech and said that if the defense sector is not the agenda of the opposition, then what is? “If their agenda is not on the street, it is not here either, then what is it? An idea of their agenda can be formed by their activity of the last days, which was limited to resignations from their positions and putting down the mandates of several people. Therefore, we can conclude that these days the only agenda of the opposition is to run away from the National Assembly.”
