Nikol Pashinyan receives the participants of the 19th “Golden Apricot” International Film Festival

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the participants of the 19th “Golden Apricot” International Film Festival: Oscar-winning director, screenwriter Terry George, honorary guest of the festival, Oscar-winning director and screenwriter Costa-Gavras, actor, director, screenwriter Michael Goorjian and writer, humanist, activist Mirza Dinai under the leadership of “Golden Apricot” founder Harutyun Khachatryan. Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan and artistic director and executive director of “Golden Apricot” Karen Avetisyan took part in the meeting.

The Prime Minister saluted the participation of the prominent representatives of the cinema world in the significant cultural event held in our country, which contributes to the development of the film industry, activation of professional contacts and exchange of experience. According to Nikol Pashinyan, the development of film production is important not only for culture, but also for education, science, and technology, and Armenia is interested in engaging in that process not only locally, but also at the international level.

Harutyun Khachatryan highly appreciated the assistance of the Armenian Government to the holding of the film festival and presented details about its course. The participants of the 19th “Golden Apricot” International Film Festival expressed their gratitude for the invitation to participate in the event and shared their impressions, stressing that they enjoy their time in Armenia.

During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged ideas regarding the trends and perspectives of cinematography development. Issues related to the effective use of resources invested in this field, the development of the film market, development of quality film industry, and the encouragement of young professionals were discussed.

Prime Minister Pashinyan presented the reforms initiated by the Government in the fields of culture and education, aimed at qualitative changes, the formation of a development-oriented value system and environment.

The Head of the Government wished a successful course for the further work of the 19th “Golden Apricot” International Film Festival.
