The RA NA President Alen Simonyan summarized the two-day work during the briefing following the IPA CIS Plenary Session. He noted that he presented his partners thorough information about the situation in the South Caucasus region, detailing the episodes related to the armed aggression of Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia in September. Alen Simonyan emphasized that the military aggression of September 13, 2022 was unleashed by Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, the internationally recognized borders of Armenia were violated.
‘We think that the use of force or the threat of force disrupts the processes aimed at establishing peace and security in the South Caucasus. The political assessment of the situation, which will be presented by our partners, is also important for Armenia,” Alen Simonyan noted.
According to the RA Head of Parliament, cooperation within the framework of inter-parliamentary organizations is important for the RA National Assembly. The RA NA deputies are represented in all ten permanent commissions of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.
The NA President assured that the Armenian delegation will actively participate in the joint work of the IPA CIS in the future, aimed at the modernization of legislation, cooperation in the humanitarian and cultural spheres.
